Challenges to Library Materials, Programs, and Displays

As required by Missouri Administrative Rule 15 CSR 30-200.015, Library Certification Requirement for the Protection of Minors, challenges to library materials, programs, and displays will be publicly disclosed on a library's website.

Book Concern: "Unicorn University #3 Shamrock's Seaside Sleepover"  Submitter asked for books with sensitive material to be labeled.

Staff committee of 3 reviewed the item.  Director also reviewed the item, and made the decision to not label books for content contained within.

Book Concern: "If UR Stabby" Submitter asked for graphic novel to be moved from juvenile collection to adult.

Staff committee of 2 reviewed the item.  Director also reviewed the item, and made the decision to move the item as requested.

DVD Concern: "Negroes to Hire: Slave Life and Culture on Missouri Farms" a docu-drama based on the content of slave narratives.  Submitter asked for video to be removed due to the content not being "factually presented stories."

Director reviewed the submission and determined the person was not eligible due to not being a library district resident.  Item was not removed from the collection.
